Welcome to the Young Alumni Council!

WHO WE ARE: We’re the Young Alumni Council – a group of UC Irvine graduates from the last decade dedicated to creating pathways for fellow young alumni to achieve their personal and professional success, all while engaging with the UC Irvine community. Current, New, & Older! 

Let’s be real. What do you think of when you receive a call from your alma mater asking you to “donate?” Probably not good thoughts. We understand. But what if we shared that your donation makes a larger impact than you realize? It’s true! Together, we can support scholars with their UCI journey and help them continue to make great memories like we all did! As part of the UC Irvine alumni community, your donation stretches larger than the circumference of Ring Road – together we could help pay it forward.

WHY SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIPS: We know the cost of education can be a significant burden on our students. Because of this, our goal this year is to raise $4,000 – hoping to significantly support two outstanding scholars. That’s right, two current anteaters of UC Irvine.  

By giving to our scholarship, you have the power to change the trajectory of a student’s life in a positive way – $5, $10, $15 at a time. That’s the same cost of our everyday coffee, matcha, or boba!  All donations are significant and impactful donations. Help a student pay for books costs, student fees, parking permits, etc. The potential support is endless!

What clubs could I join? Would I really "fit in"? Receiving the Young Alumni Council Book Scholarship was one of the first ways I began to find those answers. Not only did it help relieve some of the financial burden on my family, but it also represented encouragement and belief in my potential. I'm majoring in Biomedical Engineering, and since the fall, I've been fortunate to take on leadership roles and internships. The scholarship gave me the confidence to dive into new opportunities and make the most of my experience here. I'm so grateful to the Young Alumni Council for helping me build a strong foundation at UCI, and I'm excited for all that's ahead."
