The Department of Pediatrics is where leading-edge and patient-focused care, discovery and innovation take place. Our dedicated team of pediatric physician-scientists is committed to improving the health and well-being of children who are affected by the most challenging neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders.

A gift on Giving Day will support our growing team of physician-scientists studying neurology and neurodevelopmental issues. It will provide vital funding for scientists like Terrie Inder, MD and Peter Anderson, PhD, whose research has been foundational to the understanding of early brain development and disorders of neonates.

Dr.Terrie Inder and Dr. Peter Anderson’s primary research is targeted at understanding the timing, mechanisms and impact of cerebral injury and altered cerebral development in infants at high risk for adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes, including prematurely born infants and sick term-born infants. Their aims to investigate means of accurate, early diagnosis of brain injury as well as developing treatments and preventative strategies to reduce subsequent disabilities.
